A Nashville television reporter was shot during an ATM robbery overnight.
WZTV-TV reporter Erika Lathon was shot in the arm around midnight.
Police say Lathon was at an ATM at 17th and Church Street when the robber approached and demanded cash. Police say she gave the robber the cash, but as the thief was leaving, he fired a shot, striking Lathon in the arm.
Lathon was able to drive herself to Baptist Hospital a few blocks away, where she was treated for the gunshot and later released.
Police are still looking for the gunman and are reviewing surveillance video for clues. For now, the suspect is only described as a bald man with a very muscular build.
Lathon has worked for WZTV-TV since 2000.
WZTV General Manager Dominic Mancuso released a statement Friday:
"The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Fox 17 go out to Erika at this difficult time. Luckily, she's OK and has been released from the hospital."
A ten thousand dollar reward has been offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person who shot Lathon.
