SMYRNA, TN (WSMV) -
The zoning lines have been drawn for Rutherford County's new Stewarts Creek High School, and that means almost 2,000 students will switch schools next year.
Smyrna's Stewarts Creek High will open in August 2013 with an enrollment of 1,600 students.
Students will be pulled from Blackman, La Vergne, Riverdale and Smyrna High due to overcrowding.
Nearly half of those students, 779, will be moved from Blackman High School in Murfreesboro.
La Vergne High school will lose 592 students to this move.
Smyrna High will shift 218 students to the new school, while 300 students from Riverdale High will move to Blackman.
Juniors and seniors will have the option of staying at their current schools if they choose to do so.
