Suspect on trial after fisherman shot

McMINNVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man is set to go on trial after he was charged with shooting a fisherman last year in Warren County.

Floyd Kirby was charged with aggravated assault after police said he shot his neighbor, Ken Murray, in May 2011.

Murray and another man were fishing on Harvest Farms Lake in Warren County.

Kirby warned them to stay away from his property and fired a shotgun, wounding Murray with buckshot.

Kirby's attorneys plan to argue the shooting was an accident, according to a report in the Southern Standard newspaper.
