Federal prosecutors are trying to shut down a Nashville tax prepare operation who they say is using some shady business tactics and cheating the government.
According to the complaint in federal court, the operators of Mo' Money use end-of-year pay stubs to create fake W-2 tax forms.
The suit also alleges that Mo' Money tax filers inflate numbers or claim false tax credits and charitable donations to increase their customers' refunds.
In all, the government estimates that they may have lost more than $5 million in revenue from more than 1,100 tax returns prepared by Mo' Money last year.
