NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Fisk University has selected a college administrator from Michigan to be its next president.
H. James Williams is dean of the Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich., and the founder of a consulting practice.
Williams' administrative assistant told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he had been selected. Fisk officials declined to comment.
Fisk President Hazel O'Leary, who was energy secretary in the Clinton administration, is retiring Dec. 31.
The university has faced financial struggles and recently won a court battle to sell a stake in its modern art collection donated by painter Georgia O'Keeffe.
