BURNS, TN (WSMV) -

Burns' City Council selected a new police chief Monday night.

The board voted to offer the job to Paul McCallister.

McCallister, who was sworn in last night, has worked as a police officer in Dickson and has served in the Tennessee National Guard.

Former police chief Tase Sturgill resigned last week in the wake of a texting scandal.
