Taylor, Friendship Christian beat Adamsville 44-7

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Austin Taylor rushed for three touchdowns and 87 yards to lead Friendship Christian to a 44-7 victory over Adamsville, spoiling the Cardinals' first trip to the Class 2A championship on Saturday afternoon at Tennessee Tech's Tucker Stadium.

The win gives the Commanders (13-1) their second straight Class 2A championship in their final game before moving to the Division II level next season.

Steven Hollis led Friendship Christian with 161 rushing yards and a touchdown on 27 carries to claim offensive MVP honors. The Commanders' Tanner Martin was named the defensive MVP with seven tackles, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup.

Friendship Christian quarterback A.J. Long threw for 84 yards and two touchdowns on 6 of 14 passing.

John Reed Odom scored Adamsville's (12-2) lone touchdown on a 73-yard run and finished the game with 112 yards on nine carries.
