CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A former Fort Campbell soldier will spend the rest of his life in prison for shooting a college football player to death last year.
Phtra Oum was convicted of first-degree murder on Wednesday, according to the Leaf Chronicle newspaper.
Oum admitted he was on drugs when he shot and killed Victor Moulden in June 2011 in Clarksville.
He claims he was meeting Moulden and his friends for a drug deal when a fight broke out and he fired in self-defense.
Prosecutors said that wasn't the case and Moulden was unarmed.
