3 fires keep crews busy Thursday morning

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A quick response from firefighters early Thursday morning saved a home in north Nashville from any serious damage.

An electrical fire broke out at a house on Duke Street around 2 a.m. A woman was inside at the time, but she managed to escape safely.

Crews were able to contain the fire to one room.

Second fire in south Nashville

Crews said an electric heater may be to blame for a blaze that started on Broadview Drive off Murfreesboro Pike.

Officials said the fire burned through the second floor and up the walls.

Crews said the heater was placed too close to the wall.

No one was hurt.

Fire in Murfreesboro

In Murfreesboro, a family was displaced by an apartment fire at 6 a.m.  Crews helped a family escape the blaze on Tremont Drive.

Unattended cooking may have caused the blaze.

The Red Cross is now assisting the family.
