Maximiliano Ocon
LAVERGNE, TN (WSMV) -
A man who killed a woman and wrote satanic verses on the wall of her home entered a guilty plea on Wednesday.
Maximiliano Ocon pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Ocon beat his girlfriend Rafela Ortiz to death with a hammer at her home in LaVergne in 2010.
The district attorney in the case said Ocon received two mental evaluations and was competent to stand trial, so he was not be able to use an insanity defense.
Ocon's trial had been scheduled to start in December.
