NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Police are investigating after a 23-year-old man was shot Tuesday evening outside a south Nashville convenience store.
The shooting was reported around 7:30 p.m. at the Mapco in the 2800 block of Smith Springs Road.
Police said the gunman, dressed in all black except for a red bandana, approached a man as he was pumping gas. After a brief conversation, the victim was shot at least two times, including in the neck and shoulder.
He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, and his condition has not been released.
Investigators are looking at surveillance video for clues. They said the gunman ran toward the nearby Chase Cove Apartments after the shooting, but they do not believe he lives at the apartment complex.
Officers continue to search for the suspect, and no description has been released.
