NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A physical confrontation at a Madison hotel has one man hospitalized in stable condition and his roommate facing a charge of attempted murder.
Police said Charles Woodrome, 29, claims Jerry D. Russell, 53, tried to rape him Monday night at the Madison Motel at 625 N. Gallatin Pike.
Woodrome then swung a hammer at Russell, but Russell knocked the hammer away. That's when Woodrome then pulled out a knife and stabbed Russell multiple times, police said.
Russell was found covered in blood and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.
Woodrome is jailed in lieu of $250,000 bond.
