KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee tight end Brendan Downs has been arrested on charges of underage consumption and public intoxication.
Downs was arrested Sunday at about 1 a.m. Sgt. Rick Eastridge of the Knoxville Police Department said the manager of a Knoxville club escorted Downs outside for being underage and drinking. Downs then created a disturbance by becoming loud and using profane language, Eastridge said.
Downs, a sophomore from Bristol, Tenn., caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown this year. Tennessee ended its season Saturday with a 37-17 victory over Kentucky.
