A national movement is encouraging consumers to shop locally on Small Business Saturday.
The American shopping holiday is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The national movement started two years ago with a goal of bringing shoppers to local brick and mortar businesses.
Area business owners tell Channel 4 they saw a boost in sales last year and are hoping for more of the same for the 2012 holiday shopping season.
