Neighbors in the Edgehill community had a chance to enjoy a holiday meal with others.
Several local churches partnered together for this "fellowship meal."
Forget the paper plates. The goal was to bring five-star dining to the community. That meant formal waiters, candlelight and live jazz music.
"I kind of threw it out, what if we did something, but did it different to touch the self-esteem and the stomach," said John Faison, pastor of Watson Grove Missionary Baptist Church. "To help people understand that they have value, that they are appreciated, especially those who don't normally hear it."
The pastor said they want to make the event even bigger next year, possibly at several different locations.
