23-year-old woman charged with rape

WAYNESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A 23-year-old woman was charged this week with statutory rape in Wayne County, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Aanaka Petty was indicted by the Wayne County grand jury on Monday.

In May of 2012, the District Attorney requested the TBI investigate allegations that Petty was having sex with an underage boy in February 2012.

After conducting an investigation, the TBI presented to the case to the grand jury which returned an indictment against Petty.

She was booked into the Wayne County Jail Tuesday on $2,500 bond.
