Margaret MaxNASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
From one hospital, to another, to another detectives believed 64-year-old Margaret Max has been making the rounds.
"Throughout the Southeast United States we believe she would check herself in as a patient and then begin to wander about the hospital," said Lt. Gordon Howie with the Metro police department.
Instead of receiving care, police said Max was busy committing crimes: stealing supplies.
"I can't tell you how many items. She had a pretty large cache of things," said Howie.
Everything from gloves and gauze to syringes and morphine.
"Whether she was using it, we don't know what she was doing with it, but yeah, it's dangerous," said Howie.
Max they say got away with it for a while, but thanks to a savvy security guard at Skyline Medical Center and Metro police she was caught and charged with theft.
Police said as part of her plea deal she was also banned from Tennessee.
