Smokers can find relief in Great American Smokeout

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Anyone who has been thinking about kicking the smoking habit can find some help from the Metro Health Department.

Davidson County is participating Thursday in an annual event called the Great American Smokeout, which is led by the American Cancer Society.

Health department representatives are handing out free quit kits at five different locations across the city, and these kits are no joke.

They include some great stuff like free counseling sessions, coupons for nicotine replacement therapy and even ways for former smokers to keep their hands occupied when they want to reach for a smoke.
