Metro searching for centerpiece Christmas tree

Posted: Updated:

The search is on to find the perfect Christmas tree for Nashville's upcoming holiday festivities. The Metro Parks Department has started looking but may need your help to find one.

Officials are seeking a Norway spruce that is between 30 and 40 feet tall.

Of course, it must look good from all angles, and they would prefer if the tree has outgrown the area it's in.

The parks department says they will not only come cut the tree down, but also remove the stump and plant a new tree in its place if desired.

The tree will serve as the centerpiece for Mayor Karl Dean's tree lighting ceremony, set for Friday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. in Public Square Park.

If you think you have the perfect Metro tree, call Randall Lantz at 862-8400 or email
