NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

An earthquake measuring 4.3 in magnitude shook many mid-state residents Saturday morning, according to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

TEMA spokesman Jeremy Heidt said the quake originated near Whitesburg, KY, about 150 miles southeast of Lexington, KY. Heidt said it was felt in the northern tier counties in middle and eastern Tennessee.

Viewers from all over the mid-state felt the tremors, including the areas of Goodlettsville, Joelton, Smithville, Lafayette, Cookeville and Center Hill Lake.

One viewer in Macon County said the rumbling and shaking woke him up, while a viewer in Cookeville said her living room was shaking back and forth during the quake.

TEMA officials said no damage was reported so far.

The U.S. Geological Survey said residents in Virginia and West Virginia also felt the rumbling from the quake.
