NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Eight Metro students were transported to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital after their school bus was involved in a wreck Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 40 near downtown.
The bus collided with a tractor trailer around 2:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 211 and the Interstate 24 interchange.
A spokesperson for Metro Nashville Public Schools told Channel 4 News the bus was operating for Spectrum Academy, a contract school for students with special needs.
Metro Schools spokeswoman Olivia Brown said the bus driver and two students have minor injuries, and all students on board - as well as the drivers of the bus and truck - were transported for precautionary reasons.
