NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A case of shoplifting has a woman in big trouble again, this time accused of stabbing a Walmart employee who tried to stop her.

Police arrested Denise Colon, 27, on Saturday after the alleged incident at the Walmart on Nolensville Pike.

According to investigators, Colon stabbed the Walmart employee with a screwdriver as she tried to escape with about $100 worth of merchandise.

Once in the parking lot, police said, Colon backed her car into another employee.

This kind of crime has had Colon in trouble before, as her criminal record includes plenty of shoplifting charges.

Last year, she was arrested after surveillance video appeared to show her ditching a baby at a Target store on Charlotte Pike. The baby was not hers, and the mother later told Channel 4 News she had nothing to do with it.

Now, Colon yet again faces charges, including theft and aggravated assault.

The Walmart employee injured in the attack was treated at an area hospital and should be fine.

Colon will be in court on Thursday.
