GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) -
A high school volleyball referee who was injured during a match is now suing the Sumner County Board of Education for $500,000.
According to the Gallatin News Examiner, Timothy King claims the referee stand on which he was standing during a game at Station Camp High School suddenly collapsed while he was officiating.
The lawsuit alleges that the school system was notified that the stand was defective but never corrected the issues.
King claims his fall to the floor caused partial disabilities, though his specific injuries were not described.
According to the paper, the board of education denies the allegations.
