Father charged with abusing his infant son

COLUMBIA, TN (WSMV) -

Columbia Police Detectives responded to Vanderbilt Medical Center to investigate a possible child abuse case involving a 3-month-old infant Friday night.

After investigating the incident, Carlos Aguilar, 18, the child's father, was charged with aggravated child abuse.

Aguilar was booked into the Maury County Jail on $100,000 bond.

The child is in critical condition at Vanderbilt, and Columbia Police are still investigating the case.

Detectives were not able to comment about what led up to the abuse, but did say they were able to interview the suspect last night.
