DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a Tennessee man from Sumner County man is now accused in armed robberies in two different Alabama counties.
Police in Decatur say 29-year-old Bobby Dale Huffines of Portland, TN, was charged Wednesday in a holdup that occurred Saturday at a gas station off Interstate 65.
Huffines was already being held in Chilton County, where he is charged in a pair of robberies that occurred the same day as the Decatur holdup.
Police say Huffines was arrested in Clanton after a brief chase on the day of the robberies. He was allegedly carrying a handgun that was reported stolen in Tennessee.
Investigators believe the man had left Kentucky and was on his way to Florida when the robberies occurred.
Court records show Huffines doesn't yet have a defense lawyer.
