Vanderbilt suspends G Dai-Jon Parker indefinitely

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings has suspended sophomore guard Dai-Jon Parker indefinitely for violating the Commodores' "non-academic team policy."

Stallings said in a statement Tuesday that Parker failed to uphold the high standard expected of Vanderbilt basketball players and will be disciplined accordingly.

Vanderbilt says there will be no further comment until the suspension ends.

Parker played in all 36 games as a freshman. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard from Milton, Ga., averaged 1.7 points, 1 rebound and 0.7 steals as a freshman and had a career-best five rebounds in a win over Georgia on Jan. 14.

The Commodores lost their top six scorers from the team that went 25-11 last season and won the Southeastern Conference tournament title.
