NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Nashville firefighters had to contain two separate house fires overnight that occurred within a few hours.
One fire broke out around midnight on Emsley Avenue in Old Hickory.
A family said they woke up and discovered a large amount of smoke coming from their stove.
Crews were able to contain the fire quickly.
Officials said a 14-year boy was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation but is expected to be alright.
Fire in East Nashville
A few hours earlier crews had to extinguish a kitchen fire at a house of Forrest Avenue.
Firefighters only needed about 20 minutes to put out the blaze.
One person inside the home needed to be treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
It's unclear what caused the fire.
