MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Tampa Bay left-hander David Price feels good about his chances to win the American League Cy Young Award when it is announced next month.
But, Price, who starred at Blackman High in Murfreesboro and Vanderbilt, prefers not to think about the idea of becoming the first person from Rutherford County to win the honor.
Price told The Daily News Journal (http://on.dnj.com/S2WNcL) that the only time he thinks about the prospect is when he's doing interviews.
Price recently completed his third full season with the Tampa Bay Rays. He led the American League with 20 wins with a league-leading 2.56 ERA.
Price was runner-up in the Cy Young voting in 2010 to Seattle's Felix Hernandez.
Price was at Old Fort Golf Club on Friday for his fifth annual Project One Four Golf Classic.
