Two teens were killed in a crash in Bellevue Friday night. According to investigators, they were involved in an illegal street race.
Police said the crash happened at about 9:16 p.m. on Highway 70 South and Cross Timbers Drive.
According to investigators, the driver of the Infiniti and an SUV were racing down the street, when the Infiniti veered into a tree to avoid another car.
The driver and passenger in the Infiniti were both killed, and neither of them were wearing their seatbelts.
Officers identified the driver as Neejervan S. Abdy, 19, of Harpeth View Drive, and the passenger as Michael Fishback, 18, of River Ridge Drive.
Officers say the other driver allegedly knew at least one of the victims, and did stop. That driver gave police a statement, and investigators plan to turn it and other evidence in to the district attorney's office, which will decide if charges should be filed.
