It all got started a few weeks ago on a quiet lake in Cheatham County when a fish got a bit squirmy with a Channel 4 reporter.
From there, the video has been shown on national programs this week and viewed around the world.
Channel 4's Carley Gordon will forever be linked to a squirmy Asian Carp.
Although it took just eight seconds, "Carley's Clumsy Carp Commotion" has taken on a three-week life of its own.
The clip has been show on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360, NBC's Today show and ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!
"I think deep down I've always secretly hoped that my reporting would end up on national television, but this wasn't exactly what I had in mind," said Gordon.
And that's the real funny thing - laughs and comedy aren't what she delivers to viewers day on a regular basis.
Her job as a general assignment reporter rarely leaves room for smiles.
So, if you think this one silly spontaneous moment has somehow embarrassed or scarred her as a journalist, you don't know Carley.
"I do take my job very seriously. Any day I can make someone smile or laugh, in this case lots of people smile and laugh, that's a good news day for me, a great news day, so I'll take it," said Gordon.
Some people have speculated that since the video shows Gordon being squeamish around fish, she doesn't like being around animals. But that theory doesn't hold water since her father is a veterinarian.
