NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A serious crash Thursday morning closed westbound traffic on Interstate 24 in Cheatham County.
A tractor-trailer hauling 35,000 pounds of chicken was involved in a wreck with three cars near the New Hope Road exit around 5 a.m.
Chicken was strewn across the crash site, and crews worked for several hours to get the truck off its side and off the highway.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center. No one was hurt in the cars.
Investigators said the semi rolled off the interstate after possibly tried to overcorrect. The other three cars involved in the crash were behind the truck and hit each other.
At 11 a.m., troopers said about six miles of the interstate was shut down.
