Crime Stoppers: Korner Market Armed Robbery

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WRCB-TV) - In question this week, a robbery at the Korner Market at Rossville Boulevard and 23rd Street. As always, if you can identify the bad guys, Crime Stoppers will make it worth your while. "Unfortunately, these individuals decided that they wanted to take advantage of some folks that are actually trying to make a living," explained Chattanooga Police Officer Daniel Jones.

It was the middle of the day, Wednesday, September 12th, when the two thugs entered the store. "Both of them carrying handguns and pointed both guns at both of the clerks," Officer Jones added.

The terrifying crime took only minutes. "The clerks actually got down on the ground," said Jones. "One of the individuals actually jumped the counter and actually got behind the counter while the other one walked around."

They emptied the cash drawers, then ordered the clerks into a back room. While the surveillance video is clear, and comes from a number of different angles, it offers only the basics in the way of a description of the two. "The suspects actually did cover their face and wore ball caps, but we know that one of them is possibly a Harley-Davidson hat," Jones said.

They appear to be black males, both around 5'11" with one being bigger than the other. There is one other bit of information Officer Jones is able to glean from the video. "You can just tell by the way that they are walking and the way that they actually interact with each other that it's definitely someone that's probably known each other for a long time," he said. "They're probably really good friends."

Do you recognize one or both of the bad guys? Have you heard something? Help us get them off the streets before they commit their next crime. "There's no reason for anybody to go in and do an act like this, said Jones. "There's plenty of agencies out there that they could go and get help if they needed money; if they needed cash."

Now, thanks to Crime Stoppers, there is up to a thousand dollars cash waiting for you. "We just need that person just to call us and break the case open with just a name," added Officer Jones. "That's all we need."

Free money for just a little information and no one will ever know it was you who made the call. Pick up the phone and dial: 698-3333

An officer may answer the phone, but you never have to identify yourself.
