Bullets litter Murfreesboro neighborhood; 1 man shot

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

Police in Murfreesboro are looking for the gunman responsible for shooting up a house at least 30 times, injuring one person Tuesday night.

The shootout occurred at about 9:30 p.m. at a home on Sherrill Boulevard and Olympia Place.

Police said a group of around 10 people were inside a home when a car rolled up and opened fire.

One person inside the home was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police found about 30 shell casings outside the home, all from an assault rifle. A short drive from the scene, police found a woman sitting inside a car riddled with bullet holes.

The woman inside the car was uncooperative and taken into custody. Officers also found a pistol inside the vehicle.

Police are still investigating.

    An SUV traveling westbound on the I-440 ramp to I-65 North exited the ramp and fell about 60 feet, landing the car on railroad tracks. The Nashville Fire Department confirmed that part of the car landed on a parked train below. The driver was trapped in the car and officials had to free the driver with extraction equipment.
