NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A man arrested last month in North Carolina in connection with a fatal shooting in Nashville is now in a Davidson County jail.
Ronald McCallum, 18, was taken into custody in Lumberton, NC, on Oct. 22. He was booked in Nashville on Thursday and charged with criminal homicide.
Police said McCallum is accused in the Sept. 20 fatal shooting of Abanzer Tsegaye, 21, in the parking lot of the Knights Inn on Bell Road.
Tsegaye was shot when he and a friend went to the motel to take part in a marijuana transaction, according to police.
At the time of the homicide, McCallum was free on $15,000 bond in relation to a marijuana arrest Jan. 16. He failed to appear in court Sept. 26 for that case, and a warrant was issued.
