Surveillance video of vehicle suspected in theft
FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -
Police in Franklin are searching for two burglars after $50,000 in jewelry and designer handbags were stolen from a home earlier this month.
Investigators said the theft occurred around noon Oct. 5 at a home in the 300 block of Mill Pond Circle in the Jackson Lake Subdivision.
The burglars pried open the front door to gain access to the home.
Neighbors said that during the timeframe the burglary occurred, a Hispanic woman with a long ponytail rang the doorbell of a nearby home. When the owner of the home came to the door, she asked if the house was for sale, even though no "For Sale" sign was posted.
A witness reported seeing that same woman run from the burglary victim's home, carrying two purses. Police said the woman may have been working with a large Hispanic man, dressed in all black.
The getaway vehicle, believed to be a white sport utility vehicle, was caught by the private video surveillance system of a nearby home.
