Nashville man kills friend with ax handle, say police - WSMV Channel 4

Investigators are still trying to figure out what led a Nashville man to kill his friend in front of a neighbor on Thursday night.

Police found Christopher Toth, 42, dead in the backyard of a home on Ocoee Trail around 6 p.m.

That neighbor told police that she saw the victim and homeowner, Clayton Davenport, fighting.

Toth is accused of hitting Davenport with a tree limb. Davenport then ran into the home, grabbed an ax handle and knocked Toth to the ground.

Police believe the two had been drinking before the deadly fight.

At this point, no charges have been filed.
