U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will be at a ranch in Robertson County on Friday.
The secretary will be at the Anderson Cattle Ranch in Cedar Hill, TN.
Vilsack will meet with Tennessee producers to discuss the productivity of American agriculture and legislation related to food, farms and jobs.
Later in the day, Vilsack will visit a USDA Rural Business Enterprise grant recipient, the Montgomery County commercial kitchen, to highlight the importance of helping small and emerging rural businesses grow and create jobs.
Net farm income in Tennessee rose from $447 million in 2010 to nearly $800 million in 2011, while exports grew from $1.3 billion in 2009 to $2.3 billion in 2011, according to the USDA.
