Two Mount Pleasant High School football players accused of raping a child could be charged as adults, pending the outcome of a juvenile court hearing next week.
According to the Daily Herald, the district attorney's office will try to get the 16-year-old and 17-year-old suspects transferred to an adult court during a hearing Oct. 25.
Police said the two teens are accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.
She's the same victim in the case of the team's star quarterback, Princeton Harlan, 18, investigators said.
Harlan was arrested at the high school Oct. 10 and released on bond, police said.
According to police, the victim became pregnant and terminated the pregnancy.
The FBI is examining DNA evidence to determine who the father was.

Kaitlyn Hunt's supporters say she is being prosecuted because she was in a sexual relationship with someone of the same sex. Authorities say it isn't a gay rights issue at all, but rather a simple case of an adult inappropriately involved with a minor.
