NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A nonprofit victim rights group founded by former Tennessee first lady Andrea Conte has a new leader.
Conte announced Tuesday that Cathy Gurley has been named chief executive of Nashville-based You Have the Power.
Gurley formerly worked as a marketing and communication executive in the music industry and created her own firm, Gurley & Co. She has worked with nonprofits, including TJ Martell Foundation, Friends of Warner Park and StandUp2Cancer.
Conte founded You Have the Power in 1993 as an advocacy group for victims and to help educate the public about crime and justice issues.
