Fire damages East Nashville house

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Emergency crews battled a vacant house fire in East Nashville on Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 6:30 a.m. at a home in the 2600 block of Airpark Drive near Shelby Bottoms Nature Center.

A school bus driver first reported the fire to authorities.

Officials at the scene said the fire caused a lot of damage. The fire started in the basement, but eventually the ceiling collapsed.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators said the cause of fire is under investigation but does not appear to be suspicious.
