Hendersonville PD: Home burglaries on the rise

Posted: Updated:
HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Hendersonville police want residents to be aware of any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.

The alert follows a string of home burglaries.

Normally there are no more than a couple of burglaries a month in Hendersonville.

However, at least seven home break-ins have been reported in the past two weeks. That's a number police find unacceptable.

The department has ramped up a campaign to get the word out about the problem.

Hendersonville police criminal investigator J.D. Coarsey said residents can make a big difference.

"They are our eyes," said Coarsey. "We have limited resources. Keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity and reporting it can help reduce crime."

Police said there is no pattern to the burglaries.
