NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Federal agents and the U.S. Attorney's office are serving search warrants at the Massachusetts pharmacy at the center of the meningitis outbreak.
According to Boston media reports, the agents are at the New England Compounding Center in Framingham, MA, a Boston suburb.
Nationwide more than 200 people have been sickened and 15 are dead from a rare form of fungal meningitis linked to the pharmacy.
A spokesman for the FDA told WBZ the raid is part of their ongoing investigation during which they have been working closely with CDC, several state health departments, and the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy to fully investigate the scope and cause of the outbreak of fungal meningitis.
