NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A gas station clerk has been charged with trying to cheat to hit it big in the lottery.
According to an affidavit, Eric Pitt scratched off the validation code on a ticket for sale at the Delta Express on Old Hickory Boulevard where he worked.
When Pitt discovered it was not a winning ticket, investigators said he put it back with the others up for sale.
Pitt sold it and the customer called police.
Pitt was charged with altering a lottery ticket, which is a felony.
