LEBANON, TN (WSMV) -
The Wilson County Commission officially appointed a new sheriff Monday.
Robert Bryan served as chief deputy for former Sheriff Terry Ashe until Ashe resigned last month.
Bryan became interim sheriff but is now officially the head of the department.
He's a familiar face in the community having worked in law enforcement in Wilson County for decades.
Bryan will serve until the next general election is held in 2014.
