NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
More mosquitoes in Davidson County have tested positive for West Nile virus, according to the Metro Public Health Department.
According to a news release, the health department's Pest Management staff captured the infected mosquitoes in Antioch near the intersection of Bell Road and Murfreesboro Road.
One person in Davidson County contracted West Nile virus and died.
West Nile virus has been confirmed in batches of mosquitoes in Antioch, Goodlettsville, Hermitage, Madison, north Nashville and south Nashville.
The health department has increased trapping efforts in the areas where the mosquitoes tested positive. Staff will also continue to monitor standing water in the area and apply larvicide when mosquito larvae are present.
Health officials said there are no plans to spray to kill adult mosquitoes.
