CROSSVILLE, TN (WSMV-AP) -

A police shooting on the Cumberland Plateau has left a suspect dead and an officer wounded.

The incident occurred Sunday night in Cumberland County after Deputy Jonathan Human was dispatched to Spooner Drive in the Mayland community in regards to a subject trespassing.

Human went to a residence on the property and was confronted by 41-year-old David Lee Fish. During an altercation, Human shot and killed Fish.

Human suffered a non-life-threatening wound. The officer was taken to a Cumberland Medical Center for treatment and later released.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation will review the incident. Human is on administrative leave.
