Child escapes injury as truck crashes into Murfreesboro business

Posted: Updated:

A young boy playing in a child play area of a Murfreesboro business narrowly escaped injury when a truck plowed through the front of the building Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses said the little boy had just left the play area and went and sat on his mother's lap moments before the accident.

This happened at the Title Max on Northwest Broad Street shortly before 4 p.m.

Witnesses said they saw a truck jump the curb, cross over a grassy area and drive through the parking lot before crashing into the building.

According to witnesses, the man still had his foot on the accelerator when he came to a stop. He was taken to the hospital.

There's no word yet if the man suffered from some type of medical condition.

Murfreesboro police are investigating.
