It's been months of headaches and traffic tie-ups, but one of Nashville's busiest construction sites is officially open.
On Tuesday, workers opened one lane of traffic around the new Korean Veterans Boulevard roundabout. Lafayette Street at 7th Avenue also opened.
The project eases the connection in a highly trafficked area. It's between 4th Avenue South and 8th Avenue South. The project is expected to improve the area just south of Broadway, or the so-called "SoBro" area, as well as the surrounding area near the new Music City Convention Center and the Omni Hotel.
Until the work is finished, Lea Street will be permanently closed. The date slated for the project's completion, is March 1, 2013.
