NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Multiple gang members who pleaded guilty in a large drug conspiracy case are expected to testify in a federal jury trial in Nashville.

The federal trial for 41-year-old Monique "Money" Smith of Cookeville starts Tuesday. Smith has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to distribute 280 grams or more of crack cocaine as well as multiple charges of carrying a firearm as a convicted felon.

The Tennessean reports that Assistant U.S. Attorney Braden H. Boucek said the prosecution plans to call several law enforcement agents and Vice Lord gang members who have pleaded guilty to testify.

Thirteen out of the total of 17 who were indicted in September 2011 have pleaded guilty to assorted drug conspiracy charges with the intent to distribute in the Middle Tennessee area.
