Firefighter suffers burns in west Nashville house fire

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Nashville firefighter was injured as crews contained a house fire that had been fully involved Thursday evening in the Bellevue area.

The fire was reported around 5 p.m. in the 8100 block of Highway 70 South.

No people or pets were inside the house at the time of the fire, but a firefighter suffered minor burns to his leg.

The house sustained heavy damage in the fire.

A Nashville Fire Department truck responding to the scene became stuck in a ditch, and some 2,000 gallons of water had to be dumped out of the truck to make the truck light enough for towing.
